March 2010: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is pleased to have the new Abbott Glucometer. This device is used to measure blood glucose quickly and accurately. The new glucometers now read up to 750mg/dl and can now measure blood sugar in cats, dogs and now ferrets and rats. This device will make checking accurate blood sugar a fast and reliable process and available for a small blood sample.
February 2010: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is pleased to bring back DENTAL MONTH. Receive $25 off a dental procedure and 10% off all dental diets and products. Call today for details.
January 2010: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is pleased to introduce Digital ClearView Retinal Imaging. This service allows us to better evaluate the retina an important part of the eye. This device can store and magnify these images to allow better diagnosis of diseases that can occur in the retina. This device is similar to what Optomitrists use in people every year to scan your retinas to look for changes and pathology as we age. December 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is pleased to introduce Digital Dental Radiography. This service allows us to better perform dentals on our patients as well as look for diseased teeth and jaws. Starting in January all dentals will include full mouth dental radiology. November 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic is pleased to offer our Senior Health Care Program. This is an all encompassing program for our senior patients. Since our senior pets age seven of our years for every one of their years it is important to perform bi-annual exams. In addition we are offering a comprehensive Senior Profile that will screen your pet for many illnesses. By closely monitoring your pet in their senior years we can help you enjoy your pet for many years. Please ask one of our staff or call our clinic for more details about the Senior Health Care Program. We are also pleased to introduce Sevoflurane as our new gas anesthetic. This gas anesthetic is the standard for human gas anesthesia. It is safer and quicker anesthetic than Isoflurane. It also allows for smooth and rapid recovery for your pets.
October 2009: We are pleased to introduce and offer endoscopy at the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic. Our clinic is now able to offer rigid and flexible endoscopy to aid in diagnosing upper airway pathology, urinary and gastrointestinal problems in your pets.
September 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic introduces CaerVision. A client education tool used in our lobby to help educate our clients to better care for your pets as you wait to get checked in to your appointment or after you have completed your pet's exam.
August 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic added the ability to do in house bleeding times to our IDEXX Lab station. These tests allow to asses if an animal is at risk for bleeding prior to performing surgery or biopsies. These tests also allow us to look for bleeding problems in problematic breeds like Doberman Pincher. Finally and most importantly it allows us to test for bleeding problems brought on by your pets accidental exposure to certain rodent poisons. This IDEXX Coag Analizer is a very welcome addition to our in house testing abilities.
July 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic adds additional IV fluid warmers to cover all the IV fluid pumps. Allowing for all patients to receive warmed IV fluids simultaneously. In addition an exotic incubator and nebulizer was added to the clinics inventory to allow more supportive and intensive care for your pet's needs.
June 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic introduces spay and neuter month. During the month of June 2009, the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic will take off $25 for all spays performed and $15 off neuters. This discount applies for surgeries performed in June 2009 only. The discount applies to dogs, cats and exotic animals as well. Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic expands its hours!!! The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic will be open until 8pm on Wed and Fri, open at 7am on Tues and Thurs, and open until 1pm on Saturdays. We hope that these extended hours make it more convenient to make appointments to our clinic.
May 2009: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic introduces a culture to be able to better diagnose Tritrichomonas foetus. This parasite causes bloody and watery diarrhea. They are difficult parasites to diagnose on fecals alone. This new test is a great new test in looking for causes for intestinal abnormalities in cats, espescially kittens.
April 2009: Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic begins its heartworm prevention month. Perform a 4DX Heartworm test for your dog or a Triple Heartworm test for your cat and get $10 dollars off if you purchase 12 months of heartworm preventative in clinic on the same receipt. Heartworm preventatives that apply are Heartgard Plus for dogs, Iverhart Max and Revolution for cats. Other rebates still apply for each of these products. Contact the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic for more details. Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic has now gone digital. That is right all of our x-rays are now digital images and are not done on film any more. This allows for much more viewing capabilities as well as much better image quality to help diagnose our patients' radiographic (x-ray) pathologies.
March 2009: Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic kicks off Tick Awareness month. Begining on March 9th and continuing through the month of April, purchase 6 months of flea and tick preventative (Vectra 3D, Frontline Plus, or Revolution for Cats) and you will save $5.00 off your bill at that time. Purchase must include six tubes of the same product and size and be purchased at the same time and on the same receipt. Please contact the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic with any questions or to consult with them on the best flea and tick preventative for your pet. March 30th, our clinic cat Shelah passed away. Her spunk and siamese attitude will be greatly missed at our clinic and in our hearts.
February 2009: Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic celebrates Pet Dental Awareness month by offering $15 off a cat or dog dental and 10% off all dental products and food for the month of February.
December 2008: Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic introduces IDEXX's Triple Test, which allows us to not only test our feline patients for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) and Feline Leukemia Virus, but also Feline Heartworm Disease. This disease is important to protect against, not only in our canine patients, but our feline patients as well. Even our indoor cats are susceptible to this deadly disease.
November 9th 2008: Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic hosts its first open house at our new location.
September 1st 2008: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic moved from its original location to its current location at the Yarmouth Crossing Shopping Center to allow the clinic to expand, allow easier access to the clinic for the pets and clients, and provide a more modern and up to date facility to better serve our clients and patients.
May 2008: The Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic Introduces its new ultrasound unit, making in house same day ultrasounds possible.
February 2008: Doctor Shawn Hook was the first winner of the Summit Vet Pharm Vectra Award.
January 2008: Doctor Shawn Hook is voted Veterinarian of the Year for 2007 by the readers of the Herald.
March 2007: Doctor Shawn Hook becomes the owner of the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic.
February 2007: Doctor Shawn Hook joins the Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic. Dr. Shawn Hook had been practicing at a local Fitchburg animal hospital since 1999.
